What Village is

Village is an AI-powered parenting companion currently in private beta. You are one of a small group of people helping us test and improve the product before it launches publicly. Thank you for being here.

What Vy is and isn't

Vy is a wellness guidance companion. She is not a medical service, a licensed healthcare provider, or a substitute for professional medical advice.

Conversations with Vy are informational. They should not replace advice from your pediatrician, OB, midwife, or any other qualified healthcare professional.

Vy uses artificial intelligence and may provide information that is inaccurate, incomplete, outdated, or expressed with more confidence than warranted. You should not rely on Vy as the sole basis for making medical, health, safety, or other important decisions.

How Vy works

Vy is powered by an AI model accessed through an AI API provider. Your family's context never leaves Village. We send our AI provider one message at a time and they never see your history, your logs, or anything about your family beyond what you just typed.

Vy's responses are generated by AI. While we work hard to make her accurate and helpful, she can make mistakes. Always use your own judgment and consult a professional when in doubt.

What we collect

When you use Village, we collect:

• The information you provide during onboarding: your name, your child's name, age, due date or date of birth, and feeding method. If you join as a co-parent, we collect your name and access to your partner's family information as described below.
• Your conversations with Vy, including summaries and facts Vy remembers about your family
• Log entries you create: feeds, diapers, sleep sessions, and growth measurements
• Whether you tap on product recommendation links in the app
• Basic app usage information to help us understand how the product is being used

Family sharing and data access

Village includes an optional family sharing feature. Here is what gets shared and what stays private when you invite a family member:

Co-parent (spouse) access:

• Your children's profiles and log history (feeds, diapers, sleep, growth)
• What Vy knows about your children
• Your co-parent has their own private conversations with Vy that you cannot see
• Your personal conversations with Vy and your personal memory are never shared

Caregiver access:

• Your children's profiles and log history only
• Caregivers can add log entries on behalf of your family
• Caregivers do not have access to Vy conversations or any personal information

You control who you invite and can remove family members at any time from Settings.

What we don't do

• We do not sell your data to anyone
• We do not share your conversations with third parties, except through our AI provider to generate Vy's responses as described above
• We do not use your data for advertising
• We do not give family members access to your personal conversations with Vy or your personal memory

Data retention and deletion

This is a beta product. We do not guarantee that your data will be retained after the beta period ends.

If you would like your data deleted at any time, email us at hello@ask-vy.com and we will remove it within 7 days. This includes your conversations, log entries, and any information Vy has stored about your family.

Beta limitations

Village is a work in progress. During the beta you may experience:

• Bugs, crashes, or unexpected behavior
• Responses from Vy that are incorrect, incomplete, or not yet right
• Features that change, disappear, or don't work as expected

We may end the beta, update the app, or revoke access at any time. We will try to give you notice when possible.

Affiliate links and product recommendations

Village is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.com.

When Vy recommends a product, the product name may appear as a tappable link. If you purchase through one of these links, Village earns a small commission at no extra cost to you. This helps support the development of Village.

Affiliate relationships do not influence Vy's recommendations. We only recommend products we believe are genuinely useful for parents.

Your agreement

By using Village during the beta, you confirm that:

• You are 18 years of age or older
• You understand Village is a beta product and Vy is not a medical service
• You understand your conversations are processed by our AI provider to generate Vy's responses
• You have read and agree to these terms
